Leo Carrillo State Beach

Vanessa and I went to the beach to visit her grandparents who were camping. We thought it would be fun to take some “cute” pictures. I know what you are thinking, and yes we really do look good together. Thanks for noticing.

Day At The Museum

Since we were in the neighborhood, we decided to check out the Natural History Museum. Neither of us had been there in a long time. They had a special exhibit of props from the film, Night At The Museum. We weren't allowed to take photos of that exhibit. We still had a good time.

Butterflies Are Manly

No matter what Sam says, butterflies are manly. Vanessa saw that the Natural History Museum was having a special butterfly exhibit and wanted to check it out. We saw quite a few butterflies and had a good time.

Mexican Birthday Fun

As Vanessa and I both have our birthdays this week, we went to celebrate her birthday on Saturday. We went to Chevy's and her mom told the waitress it was both of our birthdays. We got sombreros and ice cream while they sang to us. The sombreros were ours to keep. To authenticate the Mexicanity of the Sombrero's a Made in Mexico sticker was placed on top. While Vanessa rocks a Sombrero quite well, she is not Hispanic at all. We also went and saw Transformers and I loved it. It was a great night.

All You Can Eat Dodgers Fun

As part of the balancing out of my attending the theatre, we went to the Dodgers game on Friday. We sat in the all you can eat section and got our money's worth. We heckled the other team like crazy and even caused the right fielder to drop an easy pop fly. It was also Rafael Furcal Bobblehead night. So it was a good night, except the Dodgers could not pull out the victory.

4th of July

We watched the City of La Verne 4th of July parade in the morning. A soldier who grew up with Vanessa in La Verne was killed in Iraq by a car bomb a few days before and many of the festivities of the day were done in his honor. A Blackhawk Helicopter did a flyover and 150 Harley's rode through the streets carrying the flags of each state and many American flags. There was a great fireworks show to finish it off.

Wicked Fun

We went to dinner and the theatre on July 3rd. Since I have a real job now we could afford to go to Lawry's The Prime Rib in Beverly Hills and see Wicked. I have to admit I actually liked the play. And to balance it out Vanessa is going to multiple Dodgers games.

Random Ramblings

This picture has nothing to do with anything that I'm about to say. However, I think it is a great picture so here it is. Working life is good. I got my first paycheck and besides the county thinking I was 53 years old it was pretty good.
For those of you considering seeing Fanatstic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, I highly recommend it. Once I actually got to a theater with power and was able to see the movie I enjoyed it.
Next week I am going to the beach and will put up some pictures from that.

New Job

I started my new job as Staff Analyst for the County of San Bernardino on the 14th of May. I work in the Auditor/Controllers office and am a full time bureaucrat. The County is the largest county in the country in terms of land. I am officially a working man and its sad. No more goofing off and no more care free days. Oh wait, I work for the government! Ha ha!!!

Viva los Dodgers

Vanessa and I met Eric and Kira at the Dodger game. It was Nomar bobblehead night. Vanessa ate her first Dodger Dog and experienced sitting close to an obnoxious drunk fan. So she pretty much got the full Dodger experience, except for the fact that they lost.

Wow that's crazy!!!

I showed up to pick-up Vanessa for our date and we matched way to well. It was not planned, but she thought it was cute.

California Adventure

We went to California Adventure to complete the use of our 2fers. I have been bad about maintaining an up to date blog. This was like a month ago. Oh well.

Titan Pride

The finest academic institution in the land is California State University, Fullerton. Titan Pride!!!

Disneyland

We went to "The Happiest Place On Earth" this past Saturday. It was a good time. Space Mountain was rocking to the music of the Red Hot Chili Peppers. It was a long day but it was tons of fun.

Mammoth Mountain

Over President's Day weekend I went snowboarding. I went to Mammoth mountain with Vanessa and her family. I had gone snowboarding once before in my life but that time really didn't count. For all intensive purposes this was my first time snowboarding. I took a lesson in the morning and by the end of the day I had a bruised butt and I could get down the mountain. I am pretty much a professional snowboarder now.
